I have a neat trick for cleaning wax off of candlesticks: you put them on a cookie sheet lined with paper towels, turn on the oven, and put them on a low heat. After about 20 minutes, viola, the wax drips down onto the paper, or wipes off! I had to do this with a couple of brass candlesticks, so make sure your sticks are oven-safe.
